There really isn’t much to say, Cyborg pulled a cyborg, and absolutely demolished Marloes Coenen, a supposedly newfangled, bulkier Marloes Coenen mind you, en route to a 4th round TKO win. My God. If this is Cyborg off steroids, then I guess it makes sense that the Cyborg on steroids didn’t leave the first round very often.
Coenen looked good at first, keeping her distance and landing leg kicks, but the bigger, faster, stronger Cyborg who has only fought twice in nearly the last two years eventually overwhelmed Coenen, and threw her like a rag doll all over the cage. Eventually, Cyborg’s relentless hip tosses and takedowns wore Coenen out, and in the fourth round Cyborg achieved full mount and rained down the hellbows to gain the Invicta featherweigh strap. Wild stuff.
Marloes showed a lot of heart, but the fight should’ve been stopped much earlier. A legit throw in the towel situation.
