Melvin Manhoef vs. Mamed Khalidov is happening this weekend

Lost in the midst of a UFC card featuring a heavyweight rematch between Fabricio Werdum and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Polish promotion KSW also has an event on this Saturday, June 8, and there’s probably going to be some violence. KSW 23 takes place from the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland and the main event features a fight between none other than the ultra-violent Melvin Manhoef and KSW star Mamed Khalidov. Did anyone else completely forget about this or just not know that it was going down this weekend?

This fight has actually been in long time in the making and has fell through in the past, so it’s great that it’s finally happening. Khalidov is one of the best middleweights outside of the UFC. It’s unfortunate that we haven’t and probably won’t see him mix it up with some of the world’s better middleweights, be it in Bellator or the UFC, but hey, this is a pretty fun match-up regardless.

Melvin Manhoef is one of the most exciting fighters in MMA. When he fights, there’s a big chance that he either knocks someone’s head off or gets submitted and that’s why any of his fights shouldn’t be missed.

Khalidov has won six fights in a row, finishing all of them in the process. Manhoef lost his last fight, to Brock Larsen at One FC 8 in April.
