UFC on Fuel TV 7 took place yesterday from Fortaleza, Brazil and featured a UFC record for number of submissions on one event, with eight in total over the course of the fight card. One man who didn’t submit his opponent was Thiago Silva, who managed to alternatively finish Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante by way of first round TKO in a fight that was awarded Fight of the Night honors.
Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva is someone who just got finished in the first round, by UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, and well, Bigfoot didn’t have many nice things to say about Thiago Silva following yesterday’s fight. In fact, Bigfoot even challenged Thiago Silva to a fight, via Twitter, saying that they had “a debt to settle.”
Bigfoot Silva is a heavyweight, and Thiago Silva is a light heavyweight. Bigfoot’s tweet states that Thiago cuts down from 230lbs, so naturally they could meet at heavyweight. The challenge was brought up at the post fight press conference and all Thiago said was pretty much that Bigfoot must be upset about him (Thiago) leaving American Top Team and that if they fought, it’d have to be at the light heavyweight limit of 205lbs.
Bigfoot is nicknamed “Bigfoot” for a reason. He has to cut weight just to make the heavyweight limit of 265lbs so yeah, good luck on getting that fight to happen.
