Cris Cyborg Keeps Composure in the Face of Insults From Rousey and White

There are a few kinds of strength, one of which is physical, which can be shown in the ring. Another is mental, which is what Cris Cyborg is displaying in her retort to Ronda Rousey calling her an “it” and Dana White calling her “Wanderlei Silva in heels.” Those statements were hurtful and ignorant, to say the least, not something that you’d expect from public figures.

Cris Cyborg chose to make a statement on the whole issue, but did so in a rather composed manner. For someone who was just insulted, very publicly, by two of the biggest names in the MMA world, Cris Cyborg is showing amazing restraint here. [source]

“I thought the comparison was funny,” Cyborg told MMAFighting.com. “I’m a big fan of Wanderlei Silva, he’s a big international idol.”

“I’m not surprised (she wasn’t punished) because she’s UFC’s paper champion,” she said. “They obviously would never punish her, even because her opponents are handpicked.

“I always admired Dana White as a great businessman that always believed in MMA and helped our sport to grow around the world. And I’m sure that, with the power he has, he would never go against his paper champion.”
