Well, well, well. They let Yushin Okami go and now it looks like the UFC is back in the Asian male business, as they’ve signed former Pride/Dream and ONE FC standout Tatsuya Kawajiri, who is currently riding high on a 5 fight winning streak.
You have to enjoy this pick up, as Kawajiri isn’t necessarily a contender, but he is a fun fighter that could still make an interesting dent in the featherweight division. Hell, he beat lightweight number one contender Josh Thomson just a few years ago, and lost to Gilbert Melendez back in 2010. This is good for the featherweight division. I am pleased.
And no, that’s Shinya Aoki in the picture above, he’s looking at Kawajiri on the computer.
