UFC Fight Night Viewership Predictably Shrinks in Second Fox Sports 1 Event

Look, something about a Wednesday night fight with a way bigger, way better PPV card on the following Saturday just screams “people aren’t going to watch this,” yet Fox Sports 1 pushed forward with the idea of Wednesday UFC Fight Night. Hell, they are doing it again next week with UFC Fight Night: Bader vs. Teixeira, so they are really married to this idea for the time being.

The ratings are in and according to Dave Meltzer there was a steep decline from the first UFC Fight Night on Fox Sports 1 event, which makes so much sense as it was on a weekend, featured a huge, stacked card full of big names and was promoted a lot. Just how bad? They did a .64 rating, which equated to around 824,000 viewers, which is less than half of the UFC Fight Night featuring Chael Sonnen vs. Shogun Rua. Ouch. Then, to top it off, it was well below the lowest rated UFC event on FX, which was the finale of the TUF Smashes season, which concluded a season of The Ultimate Fighter that didn’t even air in the United States. Compared to Versus events, though, it is a bit higher.
