UFC Eliminates KO and Submission of the Night Awards

Coming off of the event with the most decisions in UFC history the UFC has decided to switch things up a bit when it comes to their bonus structure. Typically they give Fight of the Night, KO of the Night and Submission of the Night, but sometimes there are no Knockouts or just one and sometimes there are no submissions. Instead the UFC will keep Fight of the Night for both fighters in the FOTN and will add two additional Performance of the Night bonuses for fighters who perform in an extraordinary manner.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today a modification to its live event bonuses. Effective immediately, UFC will award Fight of the Night bonuses to each of the fighters in the best fight of the night, as well as additional Performance of the Night bonuses to the two best individual performances on the card. The bonus amounts will remain $50,000. The Performance of the Night bonuses will reward the athletes who put on the best and most exciting individual performances.
