UFC 169 Gets Jose Aldo vs. Ricardo Lamas Added

UFC 169’s main card is really starting to come together, as we find out about a few big match announcements today. Originally, it was believed that Jon Jones would defend the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship against Glover Teixeira on the February 1st event from the Prudential Center, instead there will be different titles on the line, one of which being the UFC Featherweight Championship held by Jose Aldo. Aldo has been the kingpin at Featherweight for a while now, holding the WEC Featherweight Championship before being rewarded the UFC Featherweight Championship upon the UFC’s absorbing WEC.

So the next challenge for him comes by the way of Ricardo Lamas. Lamas has had an inspired UFC run, but some of the shifting this summer has left him out for most of the year. He will finally get his chance at Jose Aldo over a year after his last fight at UFC 169. It is a really solid test for Lamas and we’ll see how long Aldo’s run as Featherweight Champion can last.
