Travis Browne Currently Without UFC Contract

To say that Travis Browne has made a big impact on the UFC’s Heavyweight division feels like a bit of an understatement right now. With two big recent wins over would-be title contender Alistair Overeem and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett it is safe to say that Travis Browne went from being just another face in the Heavyweight scene to one of the rising stars within.

It turns out that the fight against Josh Barnett was Travis Browne’s last fight on his UFC contract, even though he is being lined up for a five-round fight against Fabricio Werdum with the winner getting a title shot. This is quite an advantageous position for Travis Browne and his management team as Browne has proven himself to be an integral part of the UFC’s Heavyweight division and a future title contender. This is pretty much the position that Roy Nelson wanted to find himself in a few months ago but failed to achieve. [source]
