TMZ Unveils GSP Dealing with Father’s Illness and Getting a Girl Pregnant

Well, there we have it. This is the day and age that we live in, where someone famous has a few strange moments and chooses not to disclose the reasons only for them to end up on the internet just over 24 hours later. Crazy, right? For GSP, after his questionable title defense of the UFC Welterweight Championship over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167 he announced that he had to take some time away from the ring, a semi-retirement if you will. This incited Dana White, who claimed that GSP would give Hendricks a rematch and that GSP owed the fans, the promotion and Johny Hendricks an immediate rematch.

There has been a lot of talk and speculation about where GSP’s mind is at right now, as it clearly isn’t on the ring, but no real definitive answers. Leave it to the muckrakers at TMZ to find some solid answers, though, as according to their sources, GSP is dealing with some heavy stuff. [link]

Now, sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ Sports … Georges’ dad is dying and it’s derailed him.

And there’s this … GSP recently learned he knocked up a woman — and he doesn’t want to have a baby with her but she insists on keeping it.

After his fight on Saturday, GSP said his situation is so bad he can’t sleep — “I’m going crazy. I have issues, man. I need to relax. I need to get out for a while. I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

As someone who has dealt with the death of a father before, I can honestly say that when it happened it changed my life. It’s one of those things that losing a parent earlier on, especially if they were important to you, can really put you through the ringer. I wasn’t the same for years and can only imagine what GSP is thinking right now.
