It has been an interesting story to follow over the past few weeks as Mark Hunt has been held up in Australia due to some visa issues that he’s been having, preventing him from making it to the United States. Mark Hunt had a run-in with the law in 2002 here in the United States, which has apparently become an issue for the fighter, who has been having a hell of a time getting into the United States. Hunt has fought in the United States since that arrest, which makes the situation all the more ridiculous, in both 2003 and 2011.
The latest on the situation is that he is expected to be here on Monday, but that is still not certain as all of the other certain deadlines have been missed at this point. Then, to top it off, the replacement that the UFC had selected, Roy Nelson, has become a bit of a complicated situation for the UFC. Nelson has been granted a license for the fight, but the fight would be the last one on his current UFC contract, which has forced the UFC to renegotiate Nelson’s contract with them, which seems to point to Nelson wanting more money, especially for stepping in on late notice like this to fight.
