Ryan Couture Cut by the UFC After Back-to-Back Losses

Ryan Couture’s UFC career seemed like it was doomed from the start, but he still marched forward with it, only to earn himself two consecutive losses. Usually the UFC waits for a third loss in a row before cutting a fighter, but in the case of Ryan Couture, it was only two before they gave him his walking papers. The son of Randy Couture was at a disadvantage from the start as his contract was absorbed from the Strikeforce buyout and Dana has been on the outs with Randy for a while now.

Couture’s latest loss was against Al Iaquinta at UFC 164 where Iaquinta basically dominated the younger Couture, leading to his release from the UFC. Speculation has him Bellator-bound, which would make a whole lot of sense.
