It has been a bit of an odd stretch trying to get Mark Hunt into the United States for his upcoming UFC 160 bout against Junior Dos Santos. An arrest from 2002 has led to Hunt having some difficulties making it into the United States, but the UFC is still confident in Hunt making it to the States on time to tangle with Junior Dos Santos at UFC 160. This was all expressed on UFC Tonight by way of Ariel Helwani last night.
It also came out that the UFC has a contingency plan in place in case of the worst case scenario and Hunt cannot make it into the United States. That contingency plan is the tough-as-nails Roy Nelson. Nelson and Junior Dos Santos have tangled before, with Dos Santos picking up the decision win in what was a brutal slugfest between the two Heavyweights. Nelson will be attending an upcoming NSAC meeting to apply for a license for the event just in case he has to step in.
