Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Brown Was Beautiful, Violent

My god. Robbie Lawler will once again fight Johny Hendricks for the UFC Welterweight Championship in a move that shocks nobody. We’ll admit it, we are kind of sad to see Matt Brown’s epic run come to an end, but man, he went out there to fight and it was definitely one of the most entertaining fights all year. The first round saw both men trading, both men getting rocked and fighting back. It was a precursor of what was to come.

The second round Lawler seemed to slow down a bit, although he was starting to work the body kick a little bit more. Round three was Ruthless Robbie Lawler right back in the driver’s seat just throwing everything at the tough-as-nails Matt Brown. Round four was more of the same, with Lawler unable to put Brown down and out. Round five came and the fight just went nuts. Brown was finally able to get in close enough and start working the body of Lawler, both men exchanging huge shots. Tremendously entertaining, but Lawler took that round.

Great, great fight.
