Sadly yesterday what felt like the inevitable happened as UFC Heavyweight Shane del Rosario passed away after suffering a pair of heart attacks two weeks ago. There were mixed reports on the whole affair throughout, as the family was holding out hope that he’d pull through. Sadly, lack of brain activity is a point of no return and anything that registers after days of inactivity might just set off false hopes in loved ones.
Del Rosario passed away late Sunday night after an almost two week long hospital stay, ending what had to of been an incredibly trying time for his loved ones. Del Rosario was on a roll until he was struck by a drunk driver in 2011 only to have struggles in 2012. He was scheduled to fight on UFC 168 until he was forced to pull out from an injury. Shane was by all reports a great guy and his loss will be felt throughout the community.
