UFC 165 takes place on September 21 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and already has a main event featuring a light heavyweight title bout between current champion Jon Jones and title challenger Alexander Gustafsson.
Today another title fight was added to the card, as Renan Barao and Eddie Wineland will fight in an interim UFC bantamweight title bout in the co-main event of the evening. The bout was previously scheduled to take place at UFC 161, which was also in Canada, but Barao had to withdraw due to injury. Barao is the interim bantamweight champion, while the champion Dominick Cruz has been out of action since October of 2011.
Barao hasn’t lost since the very first fight of his career, back in 2005. He’s on a 30 fight unbeaten streak and defeated Michael McDonald via submission in his last bout, which took place at UFC on Fuel TV 7. Wineland is on a two fight win streak, with his last win coming by split decision against Brad Pickett at UFC 155 in December.
