Randy Couture Upset About UFC’s Ban on Him Cornering His Son

When it comes to family matters, the UFC should probably take a little bit of a hands off approach, at least that is how former UFC Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture feels in regards to his son, Ryan Couture. Ryan Couture is a fighter signed by the UFC right now, who made his debut for the promotion in April, with his father and coach, Randy, not at ringside due to a falling out with UFC President Dana White.

Randy was on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour today and spoke about the issue and how he finds it ridiculous that Dana’s grudge against Randy has led to him not being able to help his son further his career at ringside.

“With Ryan competing and not allowing me to continue to progress and work with my son in his fight career, it’s ridiculous and that bothers me,” Couture said. “It bothers me that he could affect my son’s livelihood. My son has earned his spot. Ryan has done the work, he has the passion for the sport and he’s doing all of the right things. So for him to be hindered and hampered by Dana and Dana’s feelings towards me, it isn’t fair and that bothers me.”
