Nate Diaz would’ve kept beating on Gray had Yves Lavigne not stepped in

And rightfully so, considering you are told to fight until the referee stops you. Nate did the right thing, and it was Lavigne’s late stoppage that made the beating Gray Maynard took last night especially vicious.

Nate Diaz spoke to the assembled press at the post fight press conference to clarify his beating:

“Yeah, in boxing (the referee) will start hopping in when they start taking a lot of punches. Or maybe the corner will throw in the towel. I wasn’t going to stop but at the same time, I was curious. I was trying to set up a good one to land that would finish it off if they weren’t going to stop it.”
