Mike Ricci Meets George Sotiropoulos at Titan FC 28

Just a week after his impressive first round TKO victory over veteran Jorge Gurgel, Mike Ricci is already slated to make his next appearance under the Titan FC banner.

Ricci, who was recently released from the UFC following a short stint with the promotion will meet fellow ex-UFC fighter George Sotiropoulos.

Ricci was a cast member of season 16 of “The Ultimate Fighter” where he dominated the tournament, but fell short in the finale by unanimous decision to Colton Smith.

Following the loss to Smith, Ricci would nab a unanimous decision victory over Colin Fletcher, but would then lose to Myles Jury at UFC 165 via split decision.

Ricci would soon after be cut by the UFC.

His opponent George Sotiropoulos was a long-time UFC veteran, making his UFC debut all the way back in 2007. Sotiropoulos would go on a seven fight win streak, four of which came by way of submission and included notable victories over Joe Lauzon, Joe Stevenson and George Roop.

However, Sotiropoulos would receive his first UFC loss at UFC 127, dropping a unanimous decision to Dennis Siver which would begin another streak; he would go on to lose his next three following the loss to Siver and would also be cut from the UFC after a unanimous decision loss to K.J. Noons at UFC 166.

Sotiropoulos will now get back in the cage and have his first fight outside of the UFC since 2007 at Titan FC 28 which will be taking place on April 25th and will air on CBS Sports Network.
