Miesha Tate is rapidly approaching that time in a fighter’s contract with the UFC where they are close to becoming a free agent. Now, none of us assume that Miesha Tate is going to walk out the door and join something like World Series of Fighting or Bellator, but Miesha Tate is looking for a raise from the UFC after her three fights in the organization already.
You can definitely argue that Miesha Tate has made a star for herself, coaching on The Ultimate Fighter, fighting Ronda Rousey in one of the biggest events of last year, then returning to the ring this year and defeating Liz Carmouche to get things back on track for her. She has one fight left on her contract, but usually the UFC dislikes booking fighters in that position and attempts to renegotiate with them to keep them under the UFC umbrella. [source]
