The UFC has announced that they have matched Bellator’s offer and re-signed number two ranked Lightweight Gilbert Melendez.
Terms of Melendez’s new deal have not been disclosed, however, the UFC has announced is that Melendez will coach season 20 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ opposite of UFC Lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and will meet for the title following the show.
‘TUF’ 20 will launch the UFC’s Women’s Strawweight division with the tournament winner becoming the inaugural Women’s Strawweight champion.
Filming of the show will kickoff in May and it will premiere on September 20th on Fox Sports 1.
