Lyoto Machida’s win over Munoz was the last on his contract

Well, isn’t this interesting? It turns out that Lyoto Machida was fighting Munoz on the last fight of his contract. Think about that. New weight class, off a loss, if Machida had fallen to Munoz, it would’ve been a majorly different contract than he’s signing now. Likely what Machida is signing now is his career’s final contract. At 35-years-old, Machida is looking to make some cash and chase gold one more time then get the hell out. This is pure conjecture, but you could see this being an 8 fight deal. Maybe he got PPV points, but who knows?
