In Light of Recent Events, Remember Who Kimbo’s Enemy Was

The MMA world is in turmoil right now, that much is clear. Strings of domestic abuse cases popping up, every few months we have to deal with fallout from neo-nazis appearing on cards, trying to decipher who is real and who is fake. There is just a lot going on. It is times like this when we are forced to reflect upon the sport of MMA as a whole.

It is times like these that we need Kimbo Slice. Why? Because, Kimbo Slice was perhaps the only fighter who ever publicly admitted his faults in such a way that he did while on The Ultimate Fighter. Kimbo Slice had an awakening unlike any other, which created one of the most iconic moments from The Ultimate Fighter history. I’m not kidding, I’m not being facetious.

So while Nancy Grace and Salon are talking about MMA’s problems, remember the lesson that Kimbo Slice taught us all.
