Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Renzo Gracie Set for Metamoris 5

It was announced on Wednesday, September 24th that Metamoris 5 will be taking place on November 22nd, and will be headlined by a match between Kazushi Sakuraba and Renzo Gracie.

Gracie and Sakuraba originally met at PRIDE 10 in August of 2000, where Sakuraba submitted Gracie nine minutes and 43 seconds into the second round of their bout, breaking Gracie’s arm with a kimura. Sakuraba, who is known as “The Gracie Hunter” due to wins over Royler, Renzo, Royce, and Ryan Gracie, was called “the best fighter in the world” after submitting Renzo.

The now 47 year old Renzo Gracie will look to avenge his loss from over 14 years ago when he meets the now 45 year old Kazushi Sakuraba for a second time.

Metamoris 5 will take place at the The Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California, airing on pay-per-view at Metamoris.com.

In the co-main event UFC welterweight Rory MacDonald will face J.T. Torres, just over a month after he is scheduled to meet Tarec Saffiedine at UFC Fight Night 55. The other matches that have been announced are Yuri Simoes vs. Rafael Lovato, Vinny Magalhaes vs. Kevin Casey, Garry Tonon vs. Zak Maxwell and another secret match.
