UFC 165’s battle of attrition between Jon Jones and contender Alexander Gustafsson was without a doubt one of the best UFC Light Heavyweight championship bouts in history. It had everything going on for it; intense action, lots of drama and everything on the line. Both fighters put forth amazing performances in the bout, which is astonishing as not a lot of people were really that interested in the fight leading up to it. It was just another Jon Jones title match where expectations were for him to steamroll Gustafsson.
It looks like for a potential rematch the oddsmakers have learned their lesson, but then again, maybe they didn’t? The odds have been released for the possible upcoming fight and they still have Jon Jones as the favorite in the fight, actually, an overwhelming favorite still. According to reports, he’s opened at a -450 favorite over Gustafsson as the +350 underdog. It is a little bit more even, but even then, I don’t know.
