Jon Jones and Anderson Silva Nominated For ESPN’s ESPY Awards for Best Fighter

Every MMA fan so desperately wants the UFC to be mainstream, so much so that we’ve seen some incredible stretches over the past few years to pin the UFC as legitimate. In what is definitely one step closer to mainstream legitimacy, two of the UFC’s Champions, Jon Jones and Anderson Silva, have been nominated for ESPN’s ESPY awards in the category of Best Fighter.

This is the third time that both men have been included on the list for Best Fighter, a category that replaced Best Boxer in 2007 to incorporate MMA fighters into the mix. Also nominated are Canelo Alvarez, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Danny Garcia.

As if the UFC didn’t need more fuel for both men to fight each other.
