Nearly 4 years after jumping from Strikeforce, with an 8-fight run culminating in a 4-3-1 record (it should’ve been 5, stupid drug tests) Jake Shields has been released from the UFC following his loss Hector Lombard. It’s not a total surprise, considering the UFC’s utter hate for anything horizontal going on in the Octagon for some reason, but there’s nothing we can do now other than hope for another badass welterweight to head to WSOF or maybe Ben Askren vs Shields in ONE FC?
