Ivan Menjivar Released by the UFC

Melvin Guillard wasn’t the only veteran cut by the UFC today.

Joining Guillard is Bantamweight Ivan Menjivar.

Menjivar has been competing in the UFC since 2011, accumulating a record of 4-4 inside the octagon. Mejivar’s UFC career began at UFC 129 where he defeated Charlie Valencia by TKO in just over a minute.

Following the win over Valencia, Menjivar would be victorious in his next two bouts, earning a unanimous decision over Nick Pace and a submission victory over John Albert.

After winning three straight, Menjivar would lose his first UFC bout to Mike Easton via unanimous decision; but would recover nicely in his next bout earning a first round submission.

However, Menjivar fell short in three straight following the submission victory, which led to him being cut by the UFC.

Where do you think the “Pride of El Salvador” winds up next? Bellator? WSOF? or another organization entirely?
