In honor of Forrest Griffin retiring, the fight that put the UFC on the map: Griffin vs. Bonnar.

Last night after UFC 160 Forrest Griffin retired from the sport of MMA. Now he, along with Stephan Bonnar will be placed next to Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell, their coaches on TUF 1 in the UFC Hall of Fame. This brawl at the Ultimate Fighter 1 season finale garnered huge ratings and basically ‘saved’ Zuffa and the UFC from hemorrhaging more cash.

As Dana White says, if it weren’t for this fight, there may not be a UFC. Almost a decade later, it’s an awesome fight. Still.

Hats off to these guys. Thanks for the memories, Forrest.
