GLORY Signs Former WEC Champion Miguel Torres

GLORY sometimes will sneak in a signing without a lot of fanfare, sometimes it feels like they should be making a big stink over it. Today on their website they updated the fight card for GLORY 17 Los Angeles. Just like we had heard, Mirko Cro Cop is included on the card, but it looks like Pat Barry won’t receive medical clearance to fight after his brutal knockout to Zack Mwekassa and will be fighting Sergei Kharitonov instead. So what was the surprise? Miguel Torres.

Yes, that Miguel Torres, the former WEC Bantamweight Champion who had a run in the UFC before being cut, moving to World Series of Fighting, then being cut. It’s been a tough road for Miguel Torres, to say the least. Will things get easier? I’m not sure. Miguel Torres is scheduled to be a part of the GLORY 17 Los Angeles Featherweight tournament where he’ll fight seasoned Muay Thai fighter Shane Oblonsky.

Godspeed, Miguel Torres, you are going to need it.
