Georges St. Pierre Lands Role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier

There is no end in sight for UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre’s run at the top, so it looks like he’ll be taking a little bit of time away from training and fighting over the next few months as he has been called up to Hollywood to take on a role in the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This won’t be St. Pierre’s first time entering into the world of film, but should be a considerably bigger role for him in a Hollywood blockbuster.

He is slated to play the role of Batroc the Leaper, the French Savate master from the comics, in the upcoming film. His accent and martial arts skills should play right into the character quite well and it’ll be interesting to see GSP take on the role of a villain after his MMA career has been that of a squeaky clean babyface.

He isn’t expected to be away filming for too long, so don’t worry, that showdown with Johny Hendricks is still forthcoming. [source]
