Free Fight: Nick Diaz vs. Drew Fickett

UFC 183 is taking place on Saturday, January 31st at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will be headlined by a middleweight bout between two of the most renowned fighters to ever grace the octagon in Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz.

Before we see Diaz take on Silva, we will take a trip down memory lane, all the way back to UFC 51, which took place nearly 10 years. On this fight card, a then 21-year-old Nick Diaz made his fourth UFC appearance against Drew Fickett.

Diaz displayed his dangerous jiu-jitsu game early on in the fight to put Fickett in some danger from his guard. From there, Fickett would drop drop to his back in search of a guillotine choke multiple times. This would eventually put him in a precarious position toward the end of round one and give Diaz an opening to finish the fight via TKO.
