Free Fight: Nick Diaz vs. BJ Penn

Nick Diaz is definitely one of the most interesting characters in mixed martial arts. The Stockton native has been retired since falling short in a bid for the UFC Welterweight title against then-champion, Georges St-Pierre, at UFC 158 in March of 2013.

However, when offered a main event fight with former UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva at UFC 183, 31-year-old Diaz couldn’t resist.

Like Silva, Diaz is currently on a two-fight skid following a lengthy winning streak that consisted of 11-straight victories for Diaz.

One of the most memorable victories in Diaz’s streak was his domination of former UFC Lightweight and Welterweight champion, BJ Penn, in his return to the UFC.

Diaz battered Penn for the better part of three rounds at UFC 137, earning himself a unanimous decision victory. However, what may have been most memorable about this fight is Diaz’s infamous “where you at, Georges?” as he called out the former champion St-Pierre following his victory.
