Free Fight: Nate Diaz vs. Gray Maynard

UFC Lightweight Nate Diaz will make his return to the octagon in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 13 against Rafael dos Anjos. Diaz, who is currently ranked 15th in the division has been sidelined since his 2013 victory over Gray Maynard on November 30th due to contract disputes.

The UFC stood their ground when it came to the younger Diaz brother and decided not to give him a new contract. UFC President Dana White even went as far as saying Diaz was not a “needle mover.”

Diaz, who challenged Benson Henderson for the UFC Lightweight title in December of 2012, was riding a two-fight losing streak with losses to Henderson and Josh Thomson until he knocked out Gray Maynard in his most recent outing which lasted just over two and a half minutes.
