Eighth ranked UFC Middleweight Michael Bisping will be taking on fifth ranked Luke Rockhold in the main event of UFC Fight Night 55 on Friday, November 7th at the Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia.
Bisping and Rockhold have developed a very heated rivalry over the past few years. Their rivalry sparked due to comments made by Bisping following a sparring match between the two; Bisping referred to himself as “the unofficial Strikeforce Middleweight champion,” a title Rockhold held at the time. Rockhold didn’t take kindly to this, and the two have been at it ever since.
While we wait just another week for Rockhold and Bisping to square off in the octagon, let’s take a look back at Bisping’s 2012 bout against Brian Stann.
Bisping vs. Stann was featured on the pay-per-view portion of a card that was headlined and co-headlined by title fights in the Light Heavyweight and Flyweight divisions respectively. The two engaged in a true mixed martial arts affair, taking place on both the feet and the ground. Ultimately, Bisping would take home the unanimous decision victory over Stann at UFC 152, coming away with clear-cut 29-28’s on all three judge’s scorecards.
