It doesn’t take much to become my favorite referee, but Leon Roberts just did so in style.
At a small UK based MMA promotion named “Fight UK MMA”, a Lightweight bout between Nathias Frederick and Ahmad Aswad got a little out out hand.
Following a perfectly placed left hook by Frederick that knocked Aswad out cold, Frederick pounced on Aswad to follow up and even after Roberts tried to pull Frederick off, Frederick continued throwing punches.
That’s when it happened, Roberts pulled out his jiu-jitsu game and cleanly took Frederick’s back, locked his hooks in, put one arm under the chin of Frederick and trapped the arm with his other.
Now that’s a job well done.
