Eddie Alvarez Defeats Michael Chandler in Rematch by Split-Decision at Bellator 106

Bellator 106 was a night of upsets. All three title fights resulted in the underdog coming away with the belt.

As for the main event, it was another astonishing battle between Michael Chandler and Eddie Alvarez. Once again we saw a brutal, back and forth battle between the two men which would ultimately result in a split-decision in favor of Alvarez. While many seemed to believe that Chandler came away with the victory, there weren’t as many “robbery” cries that we normally hear in close decisions, which may be due to how great the fight was.

The loss for Chandler marks the first in his professional MMA career and sets up the rubber match to see who is truly Bellator’s best Lightweight.
