Dominick Cruz Suffers Another ACL Injury

Unfortunately, it seems like former UFC Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz has once again suffered an ACL injury.

If it is in fact a tear, this would mark the third injury to Cruz’s ACL, however, this injury is to Cruz’s right knee, not the left which he suffered the initial tears in.

The former champion was out of action for nearly three years, from October of 2011 to September of 2014, which caused him to be stripped of his title.

However, Cruz made a triumphant return to the octagon at UFC 178 against, now sixth ranked, Takeya Mizugaki, knocking Mizugaki out in just over one minute.

The dominate win over Mizugaki earned Cruz a shot to take the title back, as he was set to meet current UFC Bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw, on an unknown date.

Due to Cruz’s newfound injury, the fight with Dillashaw is most certainly off, and the question begs to be asked if Cruz will ever fight again? Which is heartbreaking to fans of the sport, as the 29-year-old Cruz is one of the most dominate MMA fighters of all-time.

Cruz broke the news of his ACL injury via his Facebook page:
