Dear god, whoever had the bright idea for 13 hours of UFC programming is just bonkers, completely off his or her rocker and needs as many brain scans are available. There, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, Demian Maia just won at the TUF Brazil 3 finale in dominant fashion. Did we expect Demian Maia to win against Alexander Yakovlev? Yes. Did he? Yes.
Demian Maia once again mostly worked his striking throughout the bout, only relying on his grappling when he felt that he needed to, only going for one submission with 11 seconds left on the clock, which was kind of a bummer on this bummer of an event because I think that we all could have used Demian Maia getting a sweet submission to help us rally for the rest of the card. That didn’t happen, though.
