Dave Herman Has To Pass A Drug Test To Fight At UFC 162

Dave Herman is scheduled to fight Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 162, which takes place in a week on July 7 in Las Vegas. Whether that fight will happen or not, is up to a drug test, though.

Herman was given a conditional one fight license for his fight at UFC 162 by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, but with the condition being that he has to pass a random drug test. Why, you might ask? Herman was suspended by the UFC after testing positive for marijuana in his last fight, against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 153 in October. He was even sent to rehab.

Herman admitted that he smoked marijuana in the week prior to the Nogueira fight. He also had tested positive for that before UFC 136, which resulted in a scheduled fight with Mike Russow being cancelled. His explanation for that one? He said he ate a weed brownie.

Oh yeah, and he also mentioned that he moved to Lebanon, Tennessee and is essentially training himself. Oh, Dave Herman.
