Daniel Straus upsets Curran, becomes new Bellator champion

It’s been over a year since Daniel Straus last stepped in the Bellator cage, and between a season 6 win over 14 months ago, ring rust, a drug arrest and reported jerking around from Bellator about his contract, Daniel Straus overcame it all to defeat the first man to defeat him in featherweight champion Pat Curran.

Curran was hyped to be one of the best featherweights outside of the UFC and few gave Straus a chance, coming in as almost a 3-1 underdog, but he used his wrestling to nullify all Curran offense and grinded out a decision to win the Bellator featherweight title.
