Dana White on If Super Bowl is Moved to Saturday During UFC 169

This winter has been kind of crummy, I think that we all know that. If you live in the Northeastern part of the United States or at least know people that do you know that the Northeast has been getting a good deal of snow storms of late. It’s been enough for people to start declaring Global Warming as “not a thing” (hint: it is, sorry), but it might also be enough to interrupt the Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl is scheduled for February 2nd in New Jersey and the weather forecast is that of a blizzard. Apparently the NFL has been considering a plan B in case of that, which would be to move the event to Saturday. Well, the UFC has UFC 169 scheduled for Saturday, which would place it up against one of the most watched television programs in the world. [source]

“I’ve been seeing that,” said UFC president Dana White. “I didn’t know, I don’t keep on that stuff, but I was getting some tweets from people saying, ‘What are you going to do if the game gets moved to Saturday?’. Wow, wouldn’t that be a f—er? Yeah that would hurt.

“If 120 million people are watching the Super Bowl on Saturday… let’s just hope that doesn’t happen.”
