Dana White is Still Frustrated with Roy Nelson After UFC 166

Dana White’s relationship with Roy Nelson is downright comical at times. Roy Nelson is not a contender, that much is clear to just about all of us, yet it seems like whenever Roy has a fight coming up he absolutely monopolizes Dana’s time and thoughts, which makes Roy Nelson kind of a winner, no matter what. At least Dana White isn’t likely to forget Nelson, right?

After UFC 166 Dana did his best to be nice to Roy and keep things on a professional level of respect, but as soon as he got out in front of the press and heard what Roy had to say, that quickly changed.

“It’s stuff like that,” said White during his post-fight media scrum. “He said Cormier wasn’t engaging enough. [Cormier] outwrestled him, and he punched the living s–t out of him. How much more does he want to be engaged? Huh? He says some dumb s**t and he’s very delusional.

“He says we’ve never given him a title shot when we should have got a title shot. Every time you get that close to a title shot, you get beat by the best in the world. That’s why you’ve never had a title shot.”
