Dana White doesn’t get why Nate Diaz is waiting for a title shot

Listen, I want to see Nate Diaz vs. Anthony Pettis as much as the next guy, but I’m also painfully aware that Nate is 1-2 in his last 3, and in his two losses, he was completely dominated. Like, it really wasn’t even close.

So, as much as I want to Rally for Nate, it’s just not possible that I could back his title fight. There are a bunch of other fighters in line before him. At least 3-4 even, including Jose Aldo.

Still, Nate wants that title shot, and a new contract, but Dana White thinks that’s nuts:

“If you look at what was said, they don’t seem to be on the same page – his manager and him don’t seem to be on the same page,” said White as transcribed by 5thRound.com. “Listen, I like Nate Diaz. Nate and I go all the way back to ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ I’ve never had any problems with Nate, but first of all, Nate’s won one fight out of his last three fights. Him to be talking about a contract renegotiation when you’ve won one fight?

“Granted, he looked good against Maynard, now you’re back on track. And to ask for a title fight? Like, ‘I should be fighting for the title.’ Dude, you just won one fight.”
