I think a lot of us have a heart. We don’t actually want to see men beat each other to death for glory and cash, and we also believe in intelligently defending oneself. That said, we had calls for the ref’s head after the Daron Cruickshank/Erik Koch fight, mostly because Koch took a ridiculous amount of damage before having the fight called off… But…
Let’s look at this analytically: Koch WAS defending himself, even if he was getting beat up. Was it brutal, yes. But those short shots aren’t going to knock out Koch. They cut him up, and they finished the fight, but I think everyone was doing the right thing last night, even Koch.
