Conor McGregor Says He’s Fighting Diego Sanchez; Dana White Says “No”

News recently broke that Norman Parke injured his MCL and has withdrawn from his UFC 180 bout with Diego Sanchez in Mexico City.

So, as only Conor McGregor would, he took it upon himself to announce that he would be replacing his fellow Irishman Parke and fighting Sanchez on the November 15th card.

Following McGregor’s announcement, sources reached out the UFC President Dana White to confirm the bout, but White quickly shut down the idea of McGregor/Sanchez. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto let everyone know what White had to say on the situation:

So if it won’t be Diego Sanchez at UFC 180, who will the “Notorious” Conor McGregor meet next? Will he get a shot at the winner of UFC 176’s Featherweight title bout between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes? Or will McGregor have to fight another contender before getting a shot at the title?
