Cheick Kongo Hasn’t Signed With Bellator… Yet

The reports of former UFC fighter Cheick Kongo following fellow Wolfslair fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson to Bellator have turned out to be just that — rumors — for the time being, with Bjorn Rebney quickly squashing that rumor yesterday, while still expressing interest in him.

Rebney stated that they have NOT signed Kongo to a contract, but that part of the deal with Rampage has opened up dialogues with other fighters within Wolfslair Academy, which includes Cheick Kongo, and to expect possible signings from the camp in the near future. Seeing as though Kongo decided not to resign with the UFC due to feeling his age catching up to him and not being able to be as competitive as he might like, it seems like a stretch that he’d continue to fight, but stranger things have happened.
