Cerrone’s looking past Jim Miller? Wants Khabib Nurmagomedov next

No one should ever want to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov. It’s just the way it is. The guy has outright dominated everyone he’s fought, and it’s likely that he’ll continue to do so no matter who he fights. I personally think he’s the next lightweight champion once he gets the shot, but then, I think Gil Melendez beats Pettis, then Khabib beats Gil?

It’s a twisting path, isn’t it?

But here’s Cerrone, possibly looking past Jim Miller and asking for Khabib at yesterday’s press conference.

“Everyone’s scared to fight this guy. I’m not. I don’t care and I’ll get in there and fight him,” Cerrone stated.

“Fighting for that belt sure [I would]. The only problem with fighting for that belt is that you have to wait so long. You’ve got to sit and wait for 6 to 8 months. I’m not a sit and wait kind of guy. I like my money and I like spending my money. I got to keep it coming in you know. So, I’ll stay fighting.”
