BJ Penn Probably Isn’t Retired Yet, Would Return at Lightweight

BJ Penn’s last few fights have been kind of a mess, as he went to a Draw with Jon Fitch, then fought and lost to Nick Diaz. His last fight was in December of 2012 where he fought Rory MacDonald and lost a tough decision to the younger fighter. Since then, BJ has kind of/kind of not been retired, although he has yet to really discuss where he’ll go from here.

Last night on UFC Tonight there was a statement read by Ariel Helwani about Penn, and it looks like Penn might not be done yet.

“The door is still open for BJ Penn to return to MMA in the future. He’s actually training right now and has to check in with his body and mind in the next few months. If he does come back, it will be at 155 pounds.”

So nothing official, but he isn’t exactly done, which is kind of cool, right? [Source: BE]
