Big Nog Plans to Retire Before Age 40

For Antonio  Rodrigo Nogueira — affectionately known as Big Nog to fans — he sees the big 4-0 approaching and has no plans to continue fighting after he reaches the age of 40. For some that might be a bit of a bummer, but Big Nog has been fighting for so long and accomplished so much that it seems selfish to wish him to keep fighting. According to an interview with Big Nog he has four fights left on his contract and expects his next fight to come in May.

“I still have four fights left in my contract,” Nogueira told MSN. “Until the end (of the contract), I don’t think too much about the future.

“It will depend on the results of my fights. I don’t want to keep losing too many fights. I think I have two or three years left. I’m almost 38, and I don’t want to fight after I’m 40.”
